Tuesday 3rd May 2022

This morning we did a supermarket shop. It was the most appalling shopping experience one could imagine! There were major building works going on inside the supermarket while it was selling groceries to customers. The car park was almost completely taken up with the builders big vehicles. There was so much noise in the supermarket from the building work that the staff couldn't make themselves heard when trying to talk to customers. Absolutely zero regard for health and safety. We were glad to stop by this old shrine for a cup of tea and attempt to get over the shopping trip. While we were stopped there was a very heavy downpour. There has been quite a lot of rain today on and off.

What we thought would be a fairly short journey south west today turned into a bit of an epic due to a closed road. We eventually stopped for the day at the village of Segur Les Villas. Here's the view from our van.

Looking in the other direction from our parking place the village centre is close by.

We had at least been able to buy some of the local wine at the horrendous supermarket and we had a bottle with our tea this evening. It was very nice.

After tea I took a walk into the village. Here's the mayor's office.......

....here's the church.....

....here's the rather wonky shrine.....

....here's the war memorial.....

.....and here's the grocery shop.

Anne who runs the shop is apparently very helpful and welcoming but I haven't got to meet her yet.

We're the only van here this evening. The weather is quite cold and damp. The village is about 1000 metres above sea level so that no doubt contributes to the cold.

Today we travelled 65 miles (105 kilometres). We are at: N45.2229 E2.8173
