Today we left Sondrio after servicing the van at the aire and taking on LPG at a garage nearby. We didn't say goodbye to our Brazilian friends as the blinds were still shut on their van when we were ready to leave. We headed east and soon came to grips with a major cycling event.

The traffic became more and more congested as the authorities tried to make sure that the cyclists weren't impeded.

The traffic came to a complete halt at the town of Edolo so we decided to stop there for the day as it was clear that the roads weren't going to be open for hours.

We parked at the train station next to a laundrette.

The infrastructure from the cycling event was being dismantled.

We washed our clothes at the laundrette.

I doubt whether a dog or cat would be too happy about being put into one of these!

As well as the laundrette there is a pizzeria next to the station car park. We went in for a meal.

We sat on the terrace - here's the view from our table.

We had pizzas.

There were a couple of hens wandering around the restaurant. Ann gave one of them a few bits of pizza.

We had tiramisu for pud. During and after our meal there was a really powerful thunderstorm.

Today we travelled 32 miles (52 kilometres). We are at: N46.1761 E10.3306
