This morning Kerry and Gareth cooked us a fantastic hot breakfast. Many thanks K and G! We then had a nice journey down to Dover - here we are lined up waiting to board the ferry.

We crossed to Calais on an enormous P&O ferry. It only took just over an hour.

After arriving in Calais we moved on the short distance to Grand Fort Phillipe and parked by the canal but on reflection decided it was unfriendly territory and decided not to stop there overnight.

We retraced our steps slightly and settled for this "authorised" roadside parking at Dunes D'Oye between Calais and Dunkerque.

We traveled 66 miles (106 kilometres) today (excluding the ferry crossing). We are at N50.99715 E2.05504

Summer's coming and the moles in our garden have finally learned to make all their hills in the same part of the lawn rather than ruining the whole lawn.

We packed up our van and prepared to set off east.

But not before Ann had activated her her ingenious device which keeps her plants watered while we are away.

After a long but quite easy journey we arrived at Ann's daughter Kerry and her husband Gareth's house in Kent. Gareth was mowing the lawn.

While Ann and Kerry did flower arranging, Henry, Kerry and Gareth's son, contemplated the chocolates.

Following his efforts with the lawn mowing Gareth took a rest.

We rounded off the day with a fantastic meal from Kerry and Gareth's local Indian takeaway. Many thanks for the marvelous hospitality.

Today we traveled 239 miles (385 kilometres). We are at N51.1 E0.6
