Today we travelled north to the town of Albertville and parked at the aire de camping cars which is next to the medieval village of Conflans high above the town. We found a shady place to park - it's been a very hot day.

Ann did some clothes washing. When she'd got them hung up to dry we wandered up towards Conflans.

We entered the village through this gateway.

This interesting old building is now holiday flats.

There are mountain views from up here.

Getting up to the top of Conflans involves quite a few steps.

The church has a painted façade.

Inside the church is rather ornate.

See what I mean?

Here's the pulpit.

Down and round the corner from the church is the main square.

The museum was closed.

A few people were having an afternoon drink.

Up again from the square there are panoramic views of the not very appealing sprawl of Albertville.

The town may be a sprawl but the surrounding alpine scenery makes up for it.

There are some old cannons up here.

And an old fort.

On the other side of the fort there's a nice garden.

There are more good views from here. We wandered back to the van and spent the rest of the afternoon trying to keep cool - it really has been very hot today.

Today we travelled 42 miles (68 kilometres). We are at: N45.6740 E6.3968
