Today we had, in contrast to yesterday, an easy journey. We travelled north up the remainder of the west shore of Lake Como.

Having cleared Lake Como we travelled east down the wide valley of the River Adda.

After doing a major supermarket shop we stopped for the day at the town of Sondrio. We are at the town aire, which is not only free, but also has free services - unusual in Italy. Parked next to us is a Brazilian registered van!

I just couldn't resist introducing myself to the really nice Brazilian couple who own the van. They have, on a previous trip, travelled the length of the Americas from Patagonia to Alaska in their van. On this trip they shipped their van from South America to Belgium and have since visited Germany, Switzerland and now Italy.

Appropriately they have a map of the world on each side of their campervan.

They have a very nice dog. I'm not usually that keen on dogs but this one is beautiful!

The River Adda is just a short walk from the aire.

On the way to and back from the river we passed under this creeper covered flyover.

Back at the aire there was a fair amount of traffic chaos. How about this for a good bit of Italian parking?

Today we travelled 43 miles (69 kilometres). We are at: N46.1607 E9.8696
