This morning we talked to one of the people who works at Travara Pier. They are salmon farmers. They let us fill our fresh water tank from the tap on the side wall of their depot. We travelled east stopping briefly in the nearby village of Eyeries seen here.

We stopped for a cup of tea by the pier in Kenmare.

There is some public art here.

Here's the pier.

The pier is backed by a row of cottages.

It looks like unfriendly territory!

We turned west from Kenmare along the famous Ring of Kerry and stopped for the day on a small pier at Tahilla on the south coast of the Iveragh Peninsula. Here's a view from our parking place.

We saw a seal but it was gone before we could photograph it.

A small river flows into the sea here.

This is a really beautiful place.

We took a walk to the local church.

I didn't notice anything particularly interesting about either the exterior or the interior. I'm afraid we've got a bit spoiled by some of the spectacular ecclesiastic buildings we've seen on this trip.

We walked along a quiet wooded lane nearby.

Further along the lane it opens up with views to the sea and south to the mountains on the Beara Peninsula.

When we got back to our campervan at about 15.00 the sun came out.

The tide had come right up into the mouth of the little river while we had been out walking.

The pier is nice and level - no need for any ramps here.

There was a marvellous sunset this afternoon - I'm afraid this photo doesn't do justice.

Today we travelled 44 miles (71 kilometres). We are at N51.8282 W9.8221

It's interesting to see how the houses are painted in bright cheerful colours. Must help to offset the grey clouds!

Yes- it's a bit similar in Sneem where we are today - multicoloured buildings. Tobermory on Mull in Scotland has similar as has parts of Bristol in South West England. Once people start painting their houses different colours everyone else seems to join in!
