Today we travelled north to Glengariff and then west along the southern shore of the Beara Peninsula. There were fine mountain and sea views along the way. On the right of this picture you may be able to see a high waterfall.
At the western extremity of the Beara Peninsula is Dursey Island seen here across a very active sea.
We stopped for a cup of tea and a chocolate éclair next to the cable car station and then headed back east along the north side of the peninsula. We stopped for the day at Trevara Pier close to the village of Eyeries. Here's the view out to sea from our parking place.
And went for a swim in the sea. Rather them than me. I have great respect for deep cold water!
Today we travelled 64 miles (103 kilometres). We are at: N51.6772 W9.9994

That cable car looks a bit Heath Robinson. I'm not surprised you decided against it!
Too right! I wouldn't have gone on that contraption even if they'd given me a free ticket! The sea between the point and the island looked extremely angry and not the sort of place you would want to be involved in a cable car disaster!
