Sunday 31st October 2021

This morning the car park started filling up quite early - it's very popular here. The trees are Tamerisks.

We went to the beach to watch the surfers.

Here are our shadows on the beach. Back at the van we talked to an Australian man who had been in the van parked behind us over night.

We travelled north up the west coast of France. This area is called The Lande. It is characterised by sandy soil and pine and evergreen oak forests with large coastal dunes, We stopped for a cup of tea along the way.

We stopped for the day at the aire de camping cars in the village of St Julien en Born. There is an obsolete lighthouse close to the aire. It doesn't flash at night anymore!

It was quite difficult to work out how to get to the beach.

Eventually we got to the beach. Rain was threatening,

Soon after we got back to our van it started to rain. It costs 9 euros for 24 hours stay here but electricity and water are included so it's not a bad deal for on the coast.  We have our own tap and socket.

Today we travelled 55 miles (89 kilometres). We are at: N44.0936 W1.3203
