It was raining when we got up this morning but cleared up a bit as the day went on. We travelled south to visit Curracloe Beach pictured here. Reputedly one of the finest in Ireland - 19 miles (31 kilometres) long!

As the tide was high we didn't see much of the beach but the dunes behind were very nice.

The dunes here are very well preserved. This is a fragile environment.

It's not surprising that the environment here is well preserved given all the things you're not supposed to do!

We ventured into the adjoining nature reserve for a quick look around. While we were here we were able to take on some water for our van's fresh water tank using a collapsible water container which we have been carrying around for years and have never used up until now.

We moved on and visited Wexford Wildfowl Reserve where thousands of geese from Iceland regularly overwinter. When we arrived the geese had unfortunately not yet arrived so we moved on again to Wexford itself, seen here as we crossed the bridge into town. We were hoping to find a place to park in town and stay overnight but we got caught in a maze of narrow crowded streets and felt lucky to get out the other side of town unscathed!

We stopped for the day at Rosslare. We are parked on the roadside with this great view out to sea.

We can watch the ferries coming and going from Rosslare Port. We got some fish and chips from a nearby chip shop which were really excellent but the portions were just too big. We should have only got fish and chips for one. There was a slight downside to this place. At about 17.30 today some young people walked past our van and one of them banged on the side. I got out of the van to talk to them as quickly as I could but they were gone! These types of incidents are extremely rare. In 13 years of campervanning all around Europe I can only remember one similar incident and that was in England!

Today we travelled 42 miles (68 kilometres). We are at N52.2702 W6.3847

I apologise for some of our boorish Irish youth. Too bad you had to experience such ignorant behaviour.

Please don't apologise Anne Marie. I'm sure your children when they were young would not have done such a thing. I expect whoever banged on the side of our van today had suffered few opportunities in life and probably would have liked to go travelling around in a campervan her/his self! That's why I wanted to chat to the youths about why one of them banged on the van but unfortunately they weren't up for it.
