Today we travelled north stopping along the way for Ann to buy some postage stamps to send birthday cards and to buy some bread and biscuits. We stopped for the day at a free parking area reserved for campervans at Plage du Grand Crohot. Here we are parked in the pinewoods.

As was the case at our last stop there are lots of fungi about.

I wouldn't fancy this one with my steak and chips.

We took a walk towards the beach. The authorities are keen to advise of the dangers of bathing.

They advise of the dangers multilingually.

We approached the beach.

It was absolutely blowing a gale and pouring with rain.

We struggled to reach the beach. The wet soft sand was difficult to wade through.

The sea was really angry.

We got really soaked. On the way back to our van we saw this lichen growing on the sand under the pines.

At some level of understanding off season seaside resorts (and ski resorts) are a bit depressing. On the other hand I personally think they have an odd charm. It's great to come somewhere where everything is closed! Here's the restaurant - closed.

The campsite makes a point of being closed. Back at our van we tried the best we could to dry off.

Today we travelled 73 miles (118 kilometres). We are at: N44.7980 W1.2228
