Saturday 20th November 2021

Today we travelled north east to Castlemaine and then back west passing Inch Strand seen here.

We travelled along the south coast of the Dingle Peninsula.

We stopped in Dingle Town to buy some groceries. Here's a view of the harbour.

We continued west out towards Slea Head. We stopped for Ann to visit a prehistoric site. Unfortunately the weather was closing in.

Ann said that when you were actually on site it was very difficult to work out the lay out of the monument. It cost 3 euros to visit. You put the money down a pipe!

By the time we got to Slea Head the weather had got really bad and the visibility was very poor.

We continued north and then east from Slea Head returning to Dingle Town and then went north east over the Conner Pass. Here's the "view" from the car park at the pass!

There are some very narrow and steep sections of road descending off the pass. Quite scary at times. We passed this little waterfall on the way down.

There was a bit more visibility as we got lower down.

We stopped for the day at Castlegregory. There is a proper aire here at the village community centre. It cost 10 euros a night to stay here. You put the money in the honesty box.

There is a nice pub next door to the aire.

The menu looks nice.

We went in for a meal.

We had Guinness.

Then soup, followed by sausages and chips for Ann and seafood tagliatelle for me. All very nice and reasonably priced.

Today we travelled 91 miles (147 kilometres). We are at: N52.2555 W10.0255

What a pity you are having such overcast weather. The scenery is very fine on a clear day. Hopefully it will brighten up even though colder weather is predicted. The Western coast is wonderful.

Hi Anne Marie, Thanks for your message. It's beautiful today - we're in Tralee doing our laundry!
