Sunday 2nd June 2019

Before leaving the aire at Ardevon this morning Ann took this better view of Mont St Michel.

After doing a supermarket shop we travelled south and parked in the Forest of Fougeres.

We visited the remains of a megalithic tomb.

This forest is mainly of Beech. It is a very nice place to be in.

There are apparently many prehistoric sites in the forest. We visited this nearby alignment.

We stopped for the day in the town of Fougeres. The aire de camping cars was full.

We found this nice parking place on some waste ground behind the aire and next to the Boule pitch.

We walked the short distance to Fougeres Castle.

The castle is very big indeed.

It costs 8.50 euros to get in!

There's lots to see inside.

We managed to get to the top of this massive tower.

There are great views from the towers and ramparts.

Here's the aire de camping cars from the top of a tower. Our van is behind the trees at the far end of the aire.

We din't manage to do all of the castle as it was hot and we got tired. Here's the view approaching the way out through the gatehouse.

Today we travelled 44 miles (71 kilometres). We are at N48.35590 W1.21089
