Monday 3rd June 2019

This morning we made the short journey south to the city of Vitre. We parked just outside the municipal campsite.

We walked towards town. We soon came upon this impressive church which was unfortunately locked so we couldn't go in.

Here's part of the city ramparts.

We arrived at another church. This one was open.

Organ practice was going on - it was very noisy inside.

They have some nice stained glass.

There is even an interpretive sign outside to tell us something about the church.

Some of the medieval city centre is still there.

We visited the castle. Very much renovated in modern times I'm afraid.

The town hall is located in the courtyard.

There is a drawbridge over the dry moat. I'm not sure if it works.

This is looking back from the castle entrance. We wandered back to our parking place. We have a new problem with the van. We can't lock the sliding door on the side. We're going to drop in to a local Fiat dealer in the morning to see if they have time to have a look at it.

Today we travelled 23 miles (37 kilometres). We are at N48.10965 W1.19817
