Friday 31st May 2019

This morning we headed west stopping off at La Ferte Mace to do shopping, launderette and taking on diesel at a supermarket. This is the town's church.

We continued west through the forest of Andaines and stopped for the day at the town of Domfront. Here's our parking place - just behind the town hall.

We took a walk around town.

The church was built in the 20th Century. It's made out of concrete.

The interior is a little reminiscent of the Ayah Sophia in Istanbul.

Looking up to the ceiling.

The connection to Istanbul is further enforced by the Byzantine style decor.

This eatery is near to the church.

We moved on to what remains of the castle. This was built in the 12th Century on the orders of William the Conquerer's son Henry the First Duke of Normandy and King of England.

What remains is still impressive.

There are fine views all around.

Originally this must have been an enormous structure.

The whole area around the castle is very well kept.

We returned to our van for the evening. Here's the view through our windscreen.

Today we travelled 29 miles (47 kilometres). We are at N48.59437 W0.65020
