This morning we traveled the fairly short distance south west to Valledoria where our Camperstop Europe guide indicated that there was an Aire open all year. When we got there we found it was closed. We continued a short distance further south west and stopped for the day at the Port of Castelsardo from where you can look back to the old town pictured here.

We are parked right next to a load of posh boats. Posh boats need water and a launderette so we had showers in our van and washed our clothes in the launderette.

I visited the supermarket at the port to buy a loaf of bread. I also bought a bottle of the local red wine - Cannonau di Sardegna - absolutely brilliant and only about three and a half euros a bottle. I'm going to see how many more of these I can fit into nooks and crannies in the van and bring back to Blighty! We got our bikes out and had a ride around the port. We saw a Slovenian camper van over on the other side of the port. It's owner had a load of spanners out and his head under the bonnet! Bechod as they say in Wales!

At our parking place by the posh boats Leonardo (Dino to his friends) introduced himself to us. He is from Milan and at one time worked for an American company in Swindon. His partner who is doctor is originally from here and they are back temporarily visiting her family. He gave us a good briefing as to where was nice to visit in Sardinia. Many thanks Dino. We would be very happy to meet up with you again either in Milan or in Devon.

It's dark now. No one seems to be messing around in any of the boats near here. I always though that boating people loved sitting on their boats drinking G&Ts and failing to put to sea. After all if you do put to sea it's said to be like standing in a cold shower throwing away £100 notes as quickly as you can!

Today we traveled 42 miles (68 kilometres). We are at N40.9113 E8.70533
