Friday 1st December 2017

This morning we traveled north and visited the megalithic site at Filitosa only to find it closed to the public.

A notice on the door indicates that it will be closed until 1st April 2018.

We continued north along the west coast of Corsica - there were some great views along the way.

Much of this coast is very sparsely populated but as we got nearer to the capital city of Ajaccio the newly constructed seaside villas of the affluent became more in evidence.

We stopped for the day at the "village" of Portigliolo. It is really nothing more than a collection of newish houses and a shut hotel. Here's where we parked.

We had a walk around. There are some nice bits of beach.

Overnight parking is restricted here between 15th June and 30th September. I think that this is very good practice as it is only during the peak holiday period that overnight parking may be a problem.

It doesn't really feel like December here. I saw this honeysuckle in flower on the roadside.

We can see the city of Ajaccio across the bay. Here's a telephoto of a small part of it.

Today we traveled 46 miles (74 kilometres). We are at N41.79691 E8.73751
