Wednesday 6th December 2017

This morning we came south to Bonifacio on the southern tip of Corsica and parked near to the town centre.

We had a walk around the old town.

From high up in the town there are great views of the surrounding cliffs and across the sea to Sardinia.

We saw this beautiful secluded anchorage on the far side of the harbour.

It is a scenic town.

We visited the cemetery - each family has it's own little mausoleum.

We visited the church - I'm starting to change my view about the interior of Corsican churches being austere!

We saw this little statue in the church.

And we saw this one on a street corner. "The street of the little Madonna"?

We booked ourselves onto the 18.30 ferry from Bonifacio to Santa Theresa di Galluria in northern Sardinia. Absolute rip off at 114 euros for a 50 minute crossing. Moby Lines who operate this service have no opposition on the route so presumably can charge whatever they think travelers will be able to pay. Here's our ship arriving to pick us up.

We were soon loaded on board and had a coffee in the rather grim "saloon".

On deck wasn't any better - you could only see backward to were you'd come from.

Sardinia soon came into view and we drove off at Santa Theresa di Gallura into the Sardinian darkness.

Our Camperstop Europe guide showed that there was an Aire at Vignola Mare so we headed there - a distance of about 19 kilometres south west. When we got there we found that the Aire was closed so we have parked in the road outside for the night. The only vehicle we have seen all evening is a local police car which took absolutely no interest in us whatsoever.

There is however a nice fullish moon to be seen from here tonight.

Today we traveled 69 miles (111 kilometres) excluding the ferry crossing from Bonifacio to Santa Theresa di Gallura. We are at N41.12570 E9.06254
