I went to the Boulangerie 2 minutes walk from our parking place at Thuy this morning to buy croissants for breakfast. We headed east stopping off at a supermarket. I also met this woman when we had stopped for a rest. I helped her take this very heavy metal thing off the roof of her car and put it into the hatchback.

I'm not clear what she was trying to achieve but it was all to do with attaching or disconnecting her mini caravan from her car. She thanked me for my help. We continued to Argentiere where we have often stayed before. The former Aire has become a building site and the service point has been removed. After we had had some lunch we decided to go elsewhere for the rest of the day.

We stopped for the day at Plaine Joux. This is a municipal Aire but unusually for municipal Aires charges 16.20 euros for 24 hours. The Aire is at about 1300 metres above sea level and this seems to affect Ann's breathing somewhat.

There is some public art here.

Parapente is really popular around here. This is the launching pad at Plaine Joux.

There are some fine views from up here but the clouds rolled in obscuring Mt Blanc and the other great peaks around Chamonix. Later on it started to rain. We listened to the Europa League Final on Manchester United's App. Spurs 1 Man U 0.

Today we travelled 84 miles (135 kilometres). We are at: N45.9512 E6.7389
