Thursday 22nd May 2025
It rained all night at Plaine Joux. In the morning it was very misty. We travelled south stopping off to take on diesel at Tournon - £1.25 a litre - much cheaper than Trago Mills! We had to change our plans slightly as The Col de la Croix de Fer was closed.
We headed south west and stopped for the day at the Aire at Detrier. The Aire is next to this beautiful lake with a rather tokenistic fountain.
The lake is very popular with anglers.
I took a walk around the lake.
It started to rain.
The path and boardwalks around the lake would be suitable for Ann's mobility scooter but the rain is getting heavier. Back at the van rain started dripping in through the front skylight which had only been resealed in June 2024 to cure this very problem. I phoned Devon Motorhomes who had done the resealing and reported the problem. Hopefully if it needs resealing again they'll do it for free?!
Today we travelled 71 miles (114 kilometres). We are at: N45.4518 E6.1009
