Sunday 18th May 2025
When I turned the van's ignition on this morning the glow plug light stayed on for several seconds and when it went out the engine started perfectly. There's no accounting for Fiat electrics! We travelled south through magnificent wooded hills stopping to photo some wild flowers on the way.
We stopped at a supermarket to do our laundry and buy a few things. We were just in time. Supermarkets close at 12.30 on Sundays in France.
We stopped at the aire at Izanore to fill our fresh water tank. Thanks to the town for providing us campervanists with free water - you are one of the few! We came on south west to the village of Bolozon where we stopped for the day. The farmer was making hay.
The car park was very full when we arrived so we parked temporarily on the grass overflow.
We ate some cakes we'd bought earlier.
The farmer was baling hay.
Before long the occupants of the cars returned from their walks and left so we moved our van into the car park proper.
Bolozon is an incredibly beautiful little village. Here's the Mairie.
I took a walk around.
Sorry about the quality of some of these pics - my camera is playing up.
I spoke to some local people. I said that they had a very beautiful village and thanked them for their hospitality.
What's this? It's not a sundial. It's a clock.
Baling finished.
It's getting late.
The farmer's off home.
There's not much room left in the cemetery.
Many thanks to the villagers for making us welcome.
Today we travelled 42 miles (68 kilometres). We are at: N46.1919 E5.4723
