Friday 9th May 2025

Today we travelled north east stopping off along the way to buy groceries. We stopped for the day at the town of Bogny sur Meurse parking at the Aire. Here's the view from the sliding door on the side of our van.

Unsurprisingly with such a wonderful location the Aire is well patronised.

Unfortunately Ann wasn't feeling too well after yesterday's efforts so I went for a walk by myself.

I passed these geese feeding on the riverside.

The Meurse is bridged at Bogny.

The town doesn't consist of much.

There's the odd unfriendly sign!

The design of the old houses around here is quite distinctive.

I saw this Brimstone butterfly.

Upstream from our parking place there is a weir.

There is a lock to allow boats to bypass the weir.

The valley here is very beautiful. We are in the forested region of Ardennes which stretches across the nearby border into Belgium.

There are many allotments along the riverside.

I passed by the local library.

This is a really nice place to while away the day.

Ann made vegetable stew for our tea. Followed by supermarket Tiramisu.

As dusk approached the river became very still.

Today we travelled 40 miles (64 kilometres). We are at: N49.8591 E4.7448

Hello Ann and Roger, it’s been a while. I just caught up with your blog, and am now read up to date. I am very impressed with Ann’s little jeep, it looks so simple. I guess you have to put it on charge every night? Which maybe restricts where you can park? But perhaps not every day. Good luck on your travels!

Hi Richard, Great to hear from you. We have a 12v charger for Ann's wheels so we can charge its battery while we're driving along. When are you and Ann Marie going to come to visit us in Devon? It's later than you think! Roger

Hi Roger & Ann. Glad to hear about charging arrangements for the scooter, that makes sense. It certainly is later than I think, even though I think it is later than you think I think. But, of course, none of us know how late it is really.

It is indeed later than we all think Richard but there are still daily direct flights between Dublin and Exeter!
