It was a beautiful morning at the lake at Detrier but unfortunately Ann wasn't feeling up to doing the circuit on her wheels. The van was very hard to start - the glow plugs not warming up the combustion chambers! We serviced the van and set off south stopping twice to try to take on LPG but on both occasions the pumps weren't working. At last we got some good views of alpine peaks - this is the Massif du Pelvoux - the highest peak here is the Barre des Ecrins 4102 metres.
There are big limestone cliffs everywhere around here.
The meadows are full of spring flowers.
We stopped for the day at the Aire at La Mure.
The Aire is very close to the town centre.
I wandered into town and bought a few groceries and some cakes. The Mairie, seen here, is quite impressive for a little town like this.
Ann decided to take a trip on her mobility scooter but quite soon returned to the van as she was feeling dizzy and had to lie down.
I took another walk into town. This time to the fruit and veg shop.
Here's the church.
There are good views of snowy peaks from the veg shop end of town.
I got some very nice cherries, asparagus and fennel at the fruit and veg shop. Ann cooked chicken and fennel stew for our tea - very nice.
Today we travelled 57 miles (92 kilometres). We are at: N44.9053 E5.7828
