Saturday 3rd May 2025

This morning we very briefly visited Woodhenge - there were lots of vans there which looked as if they had permanent residents. We moved on South East stopping along the way at a motorway service area and parked for the day at the village of Southwick. We are parked underneath a magnificent flowering horse chestnut.

Southwick was apparently the command centre for the 1944 D Day landings.

It's a pretty little village - here's the church.

Ann set off for a look round.

Here's the village library.

We had a look round inside the church.

The graveyard is very well kept.

When we got back to our parking place I couldn't resist having a ride on Ann's new wheels! Really fun!

There was some sort of a D Day re-enactment going on.

Eventually all the WW2 military vehicles drove off leaving us in peace.

The military convoy was followed by this coach full of American tourists. Ann cooked us corn beef hash for our tea followed by left over strawberries. There are two other vans here tonight - one French and one British registered.

Today we travelled 54 miles (87 kilometres). We are at N50.8731 W1.1102
