Monday 5th May 2025

This morning Kerry made us a really nice breakfast before we headed off to Dover. Here we are lined up ready to get on to the 12.55 DFDS departure to Calais.

We had a nice smooth crossing.

We arrived in Calais about 15.30 (+1 hour).

After leaving Calais we made the quite short journey south eastwards, mainly on minor roads, to the Aire at Watten where we parked for the day.

In front of us is a large canal  or perhaps river.

Behind us is a small lake.

From time to time enormous boats pass in front of us along the canal/river. It is cold and windy this afternoon so we are staying in the van with the central heating turned up!

At 22.00 it's just starting to get dark.

Today we travelled 69 miles (111 kilometres) excluding the distance from Dover to Calais on the ferry. We are at N50.8314 E2.2085
