There was a thunderstorm in the night and lots of rain which continued through the morning. We serviced the van before leaving Chanay and did a supermarket shop. We came on to Thuy and parked at the Aire which is by a fishing lake. Here's the view from the side door of our van.
.....however throughout the day numerous car drivers turned up and parked here even though there is a really nice lakeside car park 50 metres away in which motorhomes and camper vans are not allowed!
I took a walk around the lake. Unfortunately the path was too rough to be suitable for Ann's little machine.
During my walk I came within about 5 metres of this heron before it flew away over to the other side of the lake.
Unfortunately he local boulangerie is closed to day but the next door wine shop was open. I bought a bottle of local wine - produced in a village 15 kilometres from here. I thought it very good but Ann was not so keen.
There are six large motorhomes parked up at the other end of the Aire. We have only seen occupants get in or out of one of them. There is a 48 hour limit on parking here which we think is probably being ignored and that five of these vans are in storage!
This evening a running club turned up, parked their cars in the Aire and set of running, returning an hour or so later. I think the Mayor ought to get a grip on this situation where both campingcarists and car drivers are abusing the facility - but who am I to pass judgement?
Today we travelled 40 miles (64 kilometres). We are at: N45.8943 E6.3060
