Saturday 10th May 2025

We left Bogny quite reluctantly but there are more places to see. We travelled east initially and crossed into Belgium.

After looking for somewhere to stay on the Belgian side we turned south and headed back towards France.

The forest went on and on. Eventually we descended back into the valley of the Meurse and entered the town of Sedan where we did a brief supermarket shop - mainly to get some Ardennes Pate!

We parked for the day at the Aire in Sedan. Here's the view from the sliding door on the side of our van, This Aire is run by Camping Car Park - a national chain of commercial Aires. It is costing us 15.88 euros to stay here for up to 24 hours but that does include all services including electricity.

Coincidently we are parked next to a British registered van and even more of a coincidence the man is a mobility scooter user. Ann went to talk to him to try to pick up some scootering tips. Even more coincidently, if that is possible, he too has only just got his scooter and is also a total novice scooterist!

The Meurse is very popular for various sorts of boating.

Ann took a spin round the Aire to show the man next door what she is made of!

The Aire is very popular on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Camping Car Parks must be raking it in.

CCP also own the moorings here. There are two boats staying here tonight.

Once again nice reflections in the Meurse at twilight. We had fresh baguette, Ardennes Pate, Brie and tomatoes for our tea followed by chocolate eclairs.

Today we travelled 42 miles (68 kilometres). We are at: N49.6984 E4.9373
