Sunday 3rd October 2021

It rained a lot in the night at Creve Coeur and in the morning it was still raining. Lots of people turned up at the sports centre and had difficulty not getting their feet wet getting out of their cars. We set off and came south to Courville sur Eure where we parked for the day at the municipal aire - seen here. By this time the rain had stopped and the sun was starting to appear.

We took a walk. The aire is just by the river Eure.

A little upstream is this weir.

Further still upstream is the municipal swimming pool, seen here on the right - closed until further notice!

This bollard commemorates the liberation of the town from the nazis
by american forces in 1944.

On our way back to the aire we passed this old mill.

After a cup of tea back in our van we went out for another walk.

We passed these cows.

There are numerous ponds and small watercourses all around here.

Our walk took us back into Courville passing this church.

This is the town centre. Everywhere was closed it being Sunday afternoon.

Back at the aire a woman from Norfolk introduced herself to us. She and her husband are on the way back from down south. They need to get back to look after the bees on their smallholding. Usually when they come to France they bring lots of their honey to sell as honey is apparently very expensive here. Unfortunately due to Brexit this would no longer be legal.

Today we travelled 58 miles (93 kilometres). We are at: N48.4456 E1.2417
