Thursday 21st October 2021

This morning we headed north crossing an 1800 metre pass to reach the ski resort of La Molina. Very wet and misty conditions crossing the pass. We stopped at one of the lift stations for a cup of tea. Here's the view.

As there is no snow the lift wasn't running but the cafe was open!

We descended from La Molina to back below the tree line. There are brilliant autumn colours on the trees round here.

We headed west.

We stopped for the day at the town of Martinet. We had previously stayed here overnight in October 2015.

The aire here is very new and has a very flashy high tec service point. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to give us any water.

We crossed the river and walked into town,

There's nothing special about the town as far as we could see.

There are plenty of Catalan flags on display here. The sign in Catalan translates as: Amnesty - we make ourselves free which presumably relates to trying to free their jailed elected leaders.

We bought some bread and then walked back towards the aire along the river.

The river is bounded by trees and has a nice pebble beach just here.

Back at the aire we got chatting to a British couple who had arrived in their van while we were out walking.

They have travelled here down the west side of France. It's amazing how much talking goes on when you meet other people who can talk your own language after a few weeks of just talking to each other!

Today we travelled 48 miles (77 kilometres). We are at: N42.3586 E1.6969
