Friday 22nd October 2021

It has been a beautiful sunny day today. We travelled in a north westerly direction stopping for a cup of tea on a 1700 metre pass. Here's the view south.

Here's the view looking north.

It's a popular place.

Ann investigated what appeared to be a menhir.

And nearby a fallen menhir?

Moving on we saw some interesting geological features.

We stopped for the day at the small town of Rialp. We are parked at their municipal aire. It is free to park and the services are free. It is a really beautiful place. We are parked by the river. This is the view from the side door of our van.

We walked into town, crossing a bridge over this tributary of the main river,

I'm not sure what you get in this shop. (Sorry I just can't resist these not very funny funnies.)

The town of Rialp doesn't amount to much but it is set in the most beautiful wooded valley.

A high peak is visible to the north west of the town.

We bought some bread, beer and fruit at a small supermarket and we have spent the rest of the day sitting in our van looking at the river. Very pleasant indeed.

Today we travelled 50 miles (81 kilometres). We are at N42.4393 E1.1345
