Friday 1st October 2021

The day started in quite a promising way in Cleres. It was dry and the sun just about managed to shine through the clouds. I took a walk into the village centre.

The main attraction of the village is this fine old market hall.

There are several nice local shops.

A beautiful clear stream runs through the village centre. I visited the Post Office to take out some euros from its cash machine.

After that the day went downhill in a big way. it absolutely poured with rain and it's still pouring now this evening.

We moved on south to Serifontaine where there was supposed to be a nice aire according to our guidebook however when we got there neither of us took a shine to the place and we decided to move east to Beauvais where we are staying tonight at the municipal aire pictured here.

The aire is free to stay at for up to 48 hours and there is an excellent free service point seen here. Many thanks to the City of Beauvais!

If it stops raining in the morning we hope to walk down into the city centre to visit the reputedly very fine cathedral.

Today we travelled 69 miles (111 kilometres) We are at: N49.4242 E2.0808
