Saturday 23rd October 2021

Yet another beautiful sunny day. This morning Ann did clothes washing while I walked over to the little supermarket at the petrol station in Rialp to buy a few supplies. We set off north west stopping on the 2000 metre Baqueria pass for a cup of tea. There is extensive ski infra structure here.

There is also a restaurant though I think it was closed.

The sign marking the name and height of the pass has acquired numerous stickers.

You can usually find a shrine on high passes round here.

We continued north west to the city of Vielha then south through a 6 kilometre long road tunnel to a parking area close to the Refugi Conangles.

This is the Refugi. A sign on the door says you can stay here by appointment with a phone number to call if you want to make a reservation.

This is the most incredibly beautiful place.

A small river runs next to the parking area.

The autumn colours are fantastic here. I'm afraid my photos do not do justice to the colours at all. You have to be here to see them your self.

We walked through the woods on a crunchy carpet of autumn leaves.

We are parked just next to the river.

Here's the view from the sliding door on the side of our van.

This is definitely the nicest place we have stayed at on this trip (so far)!

As evening is approaching most of the cars are leaving to go home. Later on several more vans have arrived to stay overnight.

Today we travelled 52 miles (84 kilometres). We are at: N42.6141 E0.7680

No need to be worried about the Bugaderia shop Roger, but I bet you didn't chance going in! Google tells me (you've probably also checked) that it's a Launderette.
There's certainly some spectacular scenery in this part of Spain.
Cheers....Steve
