Wednesday 20th October 2021

It was a beautiful morning in Prats de Mollo. After breakfast we set out south west towards the Spanish border stopping along the way for Ann to visit this ruined chapel.

We reached the French - Spanish border at the Col d'Ares (1513 metres). There isn't even a sign telling you you're leaving France and entering Spain. Neither French nor Spanish authorities were present at the border.

There's just an abandoned border post here.

We came down off the pass and stopped in the town of Ripoll to take on diesel and do a supermarket shop. Then we came west on a minor road over a 1100 meter pass and then down to the town of Baga where we have stopped for the day. We are parked in an enormous level parking area next to tennis courts and a football pitch.

We took a walk around the old town centre of Baga.

This is the main square.

Here's the church. It was locked.

This is the castle.

The Catalan flag flies defiantly high above Baga. I don't think that there is much sympathy around here for the Spanish Government. The Catalan elected leaders are in jail or in exile - their "crime" - organising a referendum to determine whether Catalunya should become an independent country!

Here's the view out of the side of our van. You can just see the flag.

This evening we watched women footballers training under the floodlights.

Today we travelled 60 miles (97 kilometres). We are at N42.2517 E1.8662
