Monday 4th October 2021

It was cold this morning, only 9 degrees on the thermometer in the van when I got up to turn on the heating. We made the shortish journey south to the town of Marboue which is on the River Loir - a tributary of the Loire I think.

We parked for the day at the municipal aire de camping cars and bought a baguette, two croissants and two eclairs from the nearby boulangerie before going for a walk by the river.

There is a large grassy area with picnic tables and benches between the aire and the river.

The aire was very quiet when we arrived.

Later in the day it became quite busy. We made the acquaintance of the young woman from the van on the left of the picture who had just hung out her washing to dry on a clothes line she had rigged up between two trees.

She seemed a little camera shy at first. We had a good chat with her. She is from South Korea and has been working in Germany. She converted the van herself. She wants to find a piece of ground big enough to build a house on and have a garden. We suggested France might be a good place to search. Unfortunately for her washing it started raining and continued pouring down into the night!

Today we travelled 30 miles (48 kilometres). We are at: N48.11225 E1.3283
