Tuesday 7th November 2017

Our ferry left Poole at 8.30 and arrived at Cherbourg at 13.45 on time. We stopped nearby to do a supermarket shop.

We moved on south the short distance to the small town of Saint Sauveur Le Viscompte where there is an impressive ruined castle just by our parking place at the free camper van service area.

We walked over to the castle.

The doorway leads to the keep.

Inside the keep there is little left apart from the town tourist office which is housed in an old chapel.

We descended this steep bank outside the walls of the keep.

Many of the trees around here are covered in great clumps of mistletoe.

We saw this nice fountain near to the town centre. Then it started to rain and soon got very dark so we retreated back to our van for the rest of the afternoon and evening. It rained a lot.

Today we traveled 26 miles (42 kilometres) (excluding the distance of the ferry crossing from Poole to Cherbourg) We are at N49.38661 W1.52914
