Tuesday 21st November 2017

After another very cold night another beautiful sunny day. Having charged our batteries on the free electricity at La Martre we filled our tank with free water and set off south. We stopped at a lay-by on this sensational mountain road and who should turn up but two motorhomers (they have a big van) from Hampshire who we first met at Sanlucar de Barrmeda in Southern Spain this last January. How about that for a coincidence? We had a good chat.

We stopped for a cup of tea below this ruined village which Ann went to explore.

The church may still be in use but the castle and all the other houses are ruined.

It seems like the village was rebuilt further down the hill.

We stopped for the day at the town of St Laurant du Var on the outskirts of Nice. We are parked at the very central parking area which is reserved for camper vans.

There are 3 French registered vans, a Swedish registered van and ourselves here tonight.

Here's the view from our van. The roundabout got very busy during rush hour but has now quietened down.

We took a walk. There is an enormous brand new shopping centre nearby.

Beyond the shopping centre is the Mediterranean.

We had a walk on the beach as it was getting dark. The weather is really mild here.

This is a big change from where we have been up in the mountains.

Today we traveled 52 miles (84 kilometres). We are at N43.66603 E7.19581
