The Aire at Digne les Bains where we stayed overnight is just next to a walking/cycle track along the river. Ann was up bright and not very early to take this view.

We moved on south and were diverted from our route by a closed road to St Andre les Alpes where we bought a few groceries and then stopped for a cup of tea by this reservoir.

We stopped for the day at an Aire/Campsite at the village of La Martre. There is no one around but the electricity and water are turned on. (Sorry about my shadow).

This is a strange place. There are terraces for camping and a tennis court and basketball court. All the amenities are locked.

We walked up into the pine forest which surrounds the site.

There is some very strange geology up here.

We followed a track through the forest for a while and then retraced our steps.

As the sun got low there were great views over the forested hills surrounding.

After we got back to the van we saw this beautiful sunset enhanced perhaps by the passing aircraft's vapour trail?

Today we traveled 52 miles (84 kilometres). We are at N43.77222 E6.60250
