Wednesday 8th November 2017

After a lot of rain last evening it was bright and sunny this morning. We serviced the van at the Aire in St Sauveur before leaving. We moved on the fairly short distance to St Lo. We parked at the town Aire by the river and got the bikes out.

A man, a teenage boy and a small boy had been hanging around since we arrived. Eventually the man came and spoke to me and asked me to move our van to another part of the Aire as he was bringing in a big lorry towing a big caravan! I moved the van to a different place but he then came back to me to ask me to move it again which I did. By this time a woman had turned up in a car who was obviously with the man, teenager and little boy.

Before too long the massive truck and caravan turned up.

They completely blocked the road before backing the whole outfit into the Aire.

Eventually it all came to rest taking up the whole of one side of the Aire. It never came close to either the first or second places we had been parked and been asked to move from! We felt uneasy about staying at St Lo so we moved on the fairly short distance to the Aire at Guilberville. When we got here I noticed that one of the tyre valve caps on our van was missing. I had checked their tightness before we left Widecombe - the valve cap would not have worked loose - it was removed by someone.

We took a walk around the village of Guilberville. There is this rather over the top war memorial with blue statues.

They have a very big church.

The municipal office is quite dainty. We bought some croissants and eclairs at the boulangerie.

Here's another view of the church.

Today we traveled 52 miles (84 kilometres). We are at N48.98746 W0.95005
