Wednesday 15th November 2017

It was cold in the night but we were warm under our super special duvet. The temperature in the van when we woke up was 1C however the heater soon returned it to a more comfortable 20C. We set off south on small rural roads - there was a fair amount of snow for the first few kilometres.

We headed to the city of Vienne south of Lyon and before too long we crossed the Rhone.

We visited the Aire in Vienne however it was very pokey and the water was turned off so we continued south down the east side of the Rhone. It's a very big river.

We stopped for the day at the Aire in the village of Reventin-Vaugris. When we tried to level the van one of our leveling ramps broke. This is what the ramp should look like,

And this is what it looked like after the incident. The front of the ramp had collapsed under the van's weight. This is downright dangerous. This isn't the first problem we have had with Milenco! This is the third set of Milenco ramps we have owned and they have all broken for no good reason. Worse still a few years back we bought a set of leveling jacks from them after seeing an advert of theirs which said you could level your van effortlessly in a few seconds with this product. When we found out it took about 20 minutes of strenuous activity to level the van we complained to Milenco and asked for our money back. They refused us a refund so we complained to the Advertising Standards Authority who after some deliberation agreed to order Milenco to rewrite their advertisement. Milenco then refunded us what we had paid for the leveling jacks! We don't think that we will be buying any more of their products!

As well as ourselves there is a German registered van (left) and a French registered one (right) staying here tonight.

Ann took a walk around the village. She reckoned that there isn't much to it.

There was however a nice sunset this evening.

Sunset version two. Which do you prefer?

To day we traveled 56 miles (90 kilometres). We are at N45.46814 E4.84251
