It was bleak in Mehamn this morning. We decided to try to get back over the route 888 passes as soon as possible in case conditions got worse. We got water, diesel and groceries before leaving just in case! Both the passes were really difficult - this photo gives an idea as to what it was like at times - but we got over in one piece.

At Ifjord we got back onto route 98 from where we had to cross another high plateau. This crossing was easy as the road had somehow been cleared. We reached the town of Tana Bru where we rejoined the E6.

We traveled east on the E6 and then branched off left onto the E75. We stopped for the day at a rest area by the Veranger Fjord where we saw these sea eagles and a pod of dolphins.

There's an old boat here.

There are also some unusual picnic benches. It's a really nice spot. Pity about the frequent snow showers.

Some reindeer have just turned up at our parking place.

Today we traveled 138 miles (222 kilometres). We are at N70.17624 E28.71390
