Monday 12th June 2017

It was wet for most of today only clearing up a bit in late afternoon. Before leaving our parking place in Pori we watched the local fire and rescue service practicing how to  rescue people who had fallen in the river. We made the final leg of our journey down the west coast of Finland.  We traveled through sodden fields and forests. Many of the rocks here have thick coatings of lichen.

We headed for the port of Naantali stocking up on diesel and wine when we arrived. We stopped for the day at the ferry terminal. Here's the not very very inspiring view from the side door of our van. The large structure on the right belongs to Exon-Mobil and has noxious fumes spewing out of the top!

There is a ferry in port which is due to leave this evening for an overnight crossing of the Gulf of Bothnia to Sweden. Lorries are lining up waiting to be boarded.

There's not much of interest at the port - this anchor is perhaps the highlight! We are booked onto the 10.30 sailing tomorrow headed for the port of Kapellskar in Sweden.

Today we traveled 121 miles (195 kilometres). We are at N60.45851 E22.04130
