Today we came south down the east coast of the Gulf of Bothnia, that is to say the west coast of Finland. We came through the city of Oulu and stopped for the day at this small marina  not far from Oulu airport.

This is good flat biking territory with some nice trails through the forest.

There are also extensive wetlands. Apparently there are Marsh Harriers and Bitterns here but we haven't seen (or heard) either of them yet.

There is a human powered ferry to a nearby uninhabited island.

Here's the view out of the side of our van from our parking place.

There is a fire place right next to our parking place and at tea time this man turned up on his bike, lit the fire and cooked his tea on it. He then packed up his frying pan and rode off.

This large and very noisy bird which I presume to be some kind of swan turned up nearby.

Here's another picture of the bird - has anyone any idea what it is?

It's been lovely and warm here today but as the sun got low in the sky the mosquitoes appeared on the scene for the first time on this trip.

Today we traveled 83 miles (134 kilometres). We are at N64.99001 E25.32094
