It rained throughout today with mist and low cloud. We travelled north west up the Adriatic coast crossing from Marche into Emilia Romagna Region and on to the City of Ravenna which was the capital of the Western Roman Empire from 402 till 476 AD when it was captured by the Goths. Dante is buried here. Hopefully if the weather is half way decent tomorrow we will have a look around. When we leave here we will be heading inland so we've seen the last of the Adriatic and sea in general until we reach the English Channel?!  We are parked for the night next to an old fortress in town which is called Rocca Brancaleone. Here's the view of it from our van.
