We walked into Mantova across this causeway which divides two of the three lakes which surround the town.
There is a market in town on Thursdays.
Mantova Cathedral - The Duomo - is situated in the main square, Piazza Sordello.
It is more or less what you would expect inside.
On the other side of the square is the Ducal Palace.
It has a large courtyard with gardens.
Piazza Sordello interconnects to Piazza Brolleto.
In Piazza Brodello the Palazzo della Regione has an interesting tower.
Here's a close up of the clock/calender on the face of the tower.
Piazza Brolleto interconnects to Piazza dell Erbe.
Piazza dell Erbe contains this interesting round church called not surprisingly the Rotonda.
Here's a view inside.
View from Mantova towards the lakes. The causeway we came over is on the right.
Later in the day we visited Grazie which is just a few kilometres west of Mantova. Ann went into the church. She thought it rather strange. Amongst other things there is a stuffed crocodile hanging from the roof.
We then made a short journey north to the city of Verona where we are staying tonight.
