Things were looking up at Torino di Sangro this morning - the Adriatic looked blue rather than brown!

We made the shortish journey south east down the coast to the town of Lesina leaving Abruzzo region, briefly entering Molise region and finally crossing into Puglia and checking in at the Area Camper. This is two up from a car park, one up from an aire and one down from a campsite and in this case 12 euros a night including electricity, shower, water etc and with a bar on site.

Ann phoned her daughter Kerry who is currently staying at our house in Devon to wish her happy new year and to ask her to leave the place as she would wish to find it.

Lesina is situated on a lake which is connected to the Adriatic by a narrow inlet so the water is only slightly salty.

These boats are used for fishing in the lake.

Here's the church.

The town has some really nice old paved streets. This evening as it got dark most of the townsfolk got into their cars and cruised around the streets greeting each other through open windows. This would be done on foot in summer but at this time of year it's cold so the promenading is done in cars. The guy who runs the area camper is very pleasant and invited us into the bar and treated Ann to a coffee and me to a grappa.
