Despite yesterday's calm at Punta Alice really strong winds got up in the night and rocked our van quite strongly. As we were leaving this morning we stopped briefly by this nearby industrial facility to watch the big waves coming in from the north east.

We journeyed south along the coast leaving behind the Gulf of Taranto and moving to the Ionian sea coast. We stopped for the night at Santa Caterina dello Ionio in southern Calabria.

We went for a walk on the beach.

The sea was really quite rough and the wind still strong from the north east. We walked into the village and had drinks and cake in a bar.
