Another beautiful warm sunny day. Made the 100 kilometre or so journey north up the west coast of Calabria to Cirella. We're still on familiar territory as we had stayed here in April 2012 and remembered it as a good place to stop.

This is a typical Italian seaside camper stop. You get electricity included in the deal but with reversed polarity and such a sensitive trip that if you turn on any kind of substantial mains appliance in your van it trips the trip! 8 euros per night which is 2 euros less than we got charged here in April 2012 - seasonal reduction or deflation?

There is an island just out to sea from here with a ruined tower. I tried yet again to catch a fish for our tea but without success. Either I'm hopeless at fishing or there are very few fish in the Med.

Inland from here are mountains.

We walked along the beach to the neighbouring town of Diamante.

The town is set on a rocky promontory.

The streets  are narrow with lots of modern frescos.

What's this one about?  It really is a great pity that at this time of year there is hardly anyone around to enjoy this beautiful coast and lovely weather. The locals, such as there are, are all dressed up in arctic gear with down coats, scarves, hats and warm boots. They are obviously feeling the cold! It's about 20C during the day!

When we got back to our van from town there was a marvellous sunset.
