Beautiful and sunny and warm this morning. Here's the view from our overnight parking place.

We set off north up the coast and soon go to and past the city of Gallipoli. It's all very Greek round here. Apparently everyone spoke Greek here until quite recently and you can see that influence reflected in the architecture.

We arrived at the town of Porto Cesareo, parked and went to explore on foot.

What a brilliant place! Beaches, lagoons, rocky shores and one of the ubiquitous towers.

We soon found an excellent parking place between the tower and the sea.

Ann searched for fossils on the shore.

I tried to catch a fish for our tea. I tried everything - spinners, sand eels, flies, limpets, the lot but the fish just weren't interested!

There was a really beautiful sunset. We had chicken curry and sag aloo for our tea all washed down by a nice bottle of Puglian Primitivo which was more than compensation for not catching a fish.
