Friday 11th November 2022

It was beautiful and sunny today with a top temperature of about 21 degrees. We travelled west crossing this narrow bridge at  Alcacer do Sal.

As we approached the Atlantic coast we travelled through an extensive pine forest growing on very sandy soil.

We stopped for the day at the town of Comporta which is about a kilometre from the coast. We are at the aire.

By yet another strange coincidence this is the only day of the month that we are not allowed to park here. We ignored this requirement!

The town centre is close to the aire. There are some nesting storks.

In some parts of Europe it is considered lucky to have storks coming to nest in your community.

There are plenty of eateries in town.

I had sardines for lunch.

The reason we weren't supposed to park here on the second Friday of each moth is because there's a market here. Actually there was room for everyone as there were only a couple of market stalls when we arrived at about 11.30.

There was an okay sunset.

Today we travelled 42 miles (68 kilometres). We are at N38.3781 W8.7861
