I wasn't feeling very well this morning - I'd had too much pop last night! We made a slow start. I walked round to the other side of the municipal swimming pool to take a picture of this little shrine.

Here's  the Fratel municipal swimming pool. Unfortunately closed at this time of year as Ann fancied a dip!

There is this green space the other side of the pool from the aire. We serviced the van and set off south.

After a shortish journey we approached the hilltop village of Marvao down this long avenue.

We had to breath in to make way for this lorry coming in the opposite direction.

It's a long way up to the aire at Marvao. Here's looking down. We re-met the British couple we had talked to at Benquerenca.

The aire slopes quite a lot and we couldn't get our van anywhere near level even using a leveling ramp. I took a short walk past the aire and in front of the nearby monastery where I found a fantastic level parking place on the edge of a cliff. We soon moved the van - here's the view from the side door.

The weather has been foul this afternoon. We can see Marvao Castle from here when the cloud clears as it has from time to time.

This very large and rather rude looking rock is between us and the monastery.

Today we travelled 44 miles (71 kilometres). We are at: N39.3943 W7.3736

It's quite a hike up the hill from where you are, but definitely worth visiting the castle if the weather clears up this morning! We felt the same about the aire, but didn't find the flat spot, and moved on.
