Friday 4th November 2022

This morning we serviced the van and did a supermarket shop before leaving Regua and heading south.
We stopped for the day in the town of Celorico Da Beira. Here's the view from our parking place at the town Aire.

We have stayed here before - in January 2017. There are two dedicated places for campers with free electric hook up but they were both taken by a Portuguese and a French van when we arrived but we wouldn't have wanted to park there as its out of the sun and has no view!

This old man passed by.

The Aire is a bit pokey but with views like this who cares. It's about 500 metres above sea level here so with clear skies it could be chilly tonight.

I walked into the nearby town centre.

There's not a lot going on.

I saw this fantastically well preserved old Renault 4. In their day these were often used for trans Sahara crossings where ordinary cars would have got stuck in the sand! Who needs a 4x4?

There are even better views from the town centre than there are from the aire.

I saw this interesting mural in town. Maybe about a local early aviator?

Just opposite our parking place there is a posh house with a citrus grove in the garden. There are a few more vans here tonight - no doubt pissed off by the fact that the two spaces with free electric hook up are taken.

Today we travelled 72 miles (116 kilometres). We are at: N40.6392 W7.3890
